As a unit to realize intelligent power distribution and control management, PDU becomes the executive scheduling organization of intelligent power management systems. In fact, PDUs were introduced into operators' server rooms a long time ago, but the role they played before was more to ensure the safety of electricity in the server rooms, and the PDUs at that time did not have the attribute of intelligence yet. With manufacturers such as ANDER, Clever, and Breakthrough Electric scale launch of intelligent PDU products, operators began to introduce it into the data center or server room.

According to Ding Ruijun, senior engineer of Breakthrough Electric, the application of intelligent PDUs is still in its infancy in the equipment rooms of the three major domestic carriers, with a coverage of about 20%. In some foreign mainstream operators, this figure can reach 80%.
